More Than 19000 Apps Have Been Found Unsafe By Avast
More than 19000 apps have been found to be unsafe by the digital security company Avast. These apps can even leak your personal data and can evene pt your smart phones secrity at risk.
This vulnerability in the apps is due to misconfiguration. Avast said that more than 19300 Android apps could be exposing their user data to the public as a result of the misconfiguration in the Firebase Database.
Firebase is a tool used by Android Developers to store data.
The digital security firm said that the data exposed can include Personally Identified Information collected by the applications such as your names your address your location data and in some cases even your passwords. Avast notified play store and Google about their findings so that they can inform the developers of these applications to take immediate action regarding the matter.
The mostly affected apps are related to lifestyle, gaming, food delivery and email among other apps. The application users in Europe, South East Asia and Latin America have been affected most by this issue.
