HONDA AND GOOGLE COLLABORATING IN VEHICLE CONNECTED SERVICES
Future Honda models will integrate with Google from the second half of 2022; Voice assistant and navigation will be best user experience.
Honda will incorporate Google's car-related services into an entirely new model that will launch in North America in the second half of 2022.
Honda and Google have been working with the auto industry since 2015 to bring the Android platform to cars. As a result, Honda began introducing Android Auto, starting with the Accord in 2016. Android Auto optimizes smartphone functionality for drivers and enables Honda cars to deliver user experiences that customers can enjoy safely and comfortably.
With this new collaboration, Honda will continue to expand UX for its customers
By seamlessly connecting people's mobility and everyday life through collaborations between Honda-related technologies and Google's advanced technologies, Honda will provide in-car solutions that better meet customer needs.
Voice assistant: With Google Assistant installed on the integrated display audio, drivers can easily perform their daily tasks with voice control while keeping their eyes on the road and keeping the wheel. Drivers can use a hands-free smartphone to send messages, receive directions and control media, vehicle functions and compatible devices.
Navigation: By integrating Google Maps into the car, the known and personalized maps that users have used on their smartphones can be used in the in-car display audio.
Plus, drivers can talk to Google to make things easier while driving, including navigating home, finding estimated arrival times, finding the nearest gas station or electric car charging station, and checking shop hours.
In-Car Apps: With Google Play, users can easily enjoy and download their favorite apps. You can comfortably listen to music, podcasts and audiobooks right from your car without using your smartphone. The variety of vehicle applications offered on Google Play makes the time customers spend in the car even more enjoyable.
