OVER 10 MILLION ANDROID USERS LOSE MILLIONS OF EUROS TO TROJAN ATTACK. The newly discovered Android Trojan horse has reportedly stolen millions of euros from more than 10 million Android smartphone users worldwide, according to a new report from the Zimperium zLabs security research team. Damage can reach to several hundred million euros. GriftHorse - named by Zimperium zLabs - is an attack Trojan horse that uses malicious Android operating system applications to take advantage of user interaction and trick them into signing up for a hidden premium service. After infecting an Android smartphone, the Trojan sends pop-ups for fictitious prizes. This pop-up reappears about five times an hour until the user taps the notification to accept the offer. The malware then redirects victims to a geographic web page asking them to leave their phone number for verification.
