The newly discovered Android Trojan horse has reportedly stolen millions of euros from more than 10 million Android smartphone users worldwide, according to a new report from the Zimperium zLabs security research team. GriftHorse - named by Zimperium zLabs - is an attack Trojan horse that uses malicious Android operating system applications to take advantage of user interaction and trick them into signing up for a hidden premium service. After infecting an Android smartphone, the Trojan sends pop-ups for fictitious prizes. This pop-up reappears about five times an hour until the user taps the notification to accept the offer. The malware then redirects victims to a geographic web page asking them to leave their phone number for verification.
